Mobile Clinic
In 2003 a joint initiative begun between B&Q, a UK based retail chain owned by the Kingfisher group, and Training Leadership Consulting to create a mobile clinic. The intention of this initiative is to raise awareness, educate and counsel factory workers on HIV and Aids, whilst also offering primary health care to people that would not otherwise have access to such services.
Subsequently the Mobile Clinic has been well received and has been providing its valuable services to factories throughout KZN ever since. The clinic itself is staffed by a qualified Chief Professional Nurse Nelisiwe Khumalo and HIV/AIDS counselor Philani Kuzweyo who each have more than 10 years experience working in clinics. The Mobile Clinic is coordinated by Nondumiso Nzimande who takes care of the administration as well as producing monthly statistics for each site.
