Lean Six Sigma

ss-black-beltLean Six Sigma is a powerful integrated methodology that harnesses the strength of both Lean and Six Sigma.   The Business Improvement community has seen the benefits of using these two methods simultaneously since defects inhibit flow and create waste, and waste can increase variation and result in higher defects. This has lead to the combination of lean principles into the Six Sigma methodology, now termed Lean Six Sigma (LSS). Providing the best of both worlds in one single integrated approach to enable a company to reduce waste, increase flow/pull while at the same time eliminating defects and reducing variation.

This course is designed to teach Business Process Improvement using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) Methodology. Consistent with all TLC courses, the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt course has a built-in simulated project. This simulated project is designed to take learners through a real world scenario to test their understanding and ability to apply tools and techniques of the Lean Six Sigma Methodology. The course is 15 days in duration (over a 3 month period) and utilizes a combination of process improvement simulations, case studies, application of tools and project work to facilitate learning.

Online Training: Participants can learn about Lean Six Sigma at their own pace and on their own time, through the Acuity Institute’s online training. The online training boasts online tutorials, simulations to practice Six Sigma tools and an online exam at the end of the curriculum.

Facilitator Lead Classes: Learners will be trained to work together in identifying and reducing sources of waste within their organisation, under the capable supervision of a qualified facilitator.
